What are Pantone
Colors? (Top)
Pantone colors are used by professional print shops around the world.
It`s a universal color system that helps designers, print shops and
customers talk in one language. There are two basic ways to reproduce
color on a conventional printing press: using process colors or solid
colors. The process method typically employs four process colors--cyan,
magenta, yellow, and black (CMYK). The great majority of full-color
materials you see--magazines, direct mail, and packaging--are printed
using the four-color process. Screened combinations of these four
inks can reproduce a wide spectrum of colors. The other alternative
is to use solid or "spot" color printing.

do you use to create logos? (Top)
Professional logos should originate as a vector file from which all other file
formats can then be created. These vector graphics are created in programs
such as: Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Freehand, and Corel Draw and are most
often used by professional designers or print shops. To edit a vector file,
you must have access to one of these vector based editing software applications.

in the process of printing your stationery at the professional print shops.
Most modern print shops today no longer require hard copy camera ready artwork,
but use scalable vector files instead.
What is bitmap
file? (Top)
Bitmap files are files that are more static and more popular, they are the
best to use on the Web, you may use them the most in word applications, they
are small in size, but hard to modify because of the poor resolution. A bitmapped
image is built from individual cells called pixels, which are set to a grid
like a mosaic. Most digital photographs and screen captures are bitmap images.
A bitmapped image can not be resized without loss of quality. Resizing GIF,
TIF, BMP, PCX bitmapped formats will result in image degradation.
How can I use
bitmap files? (Top)
Bitmap files may be used on the big variety of software applications. Such
as Adobe Photoshop, Photo Paint or many other programs that can work with bitmap
files. They can be open in the most of word processing applications as well,
such as Microsoft Word or many Web design programs.

of your image. Vector files are the preferred format a printer uses to print
your logo in a large size such as on a vehicle, billboard or banner. It is
imperative that you retain your vector files as you will undoubtably need them
for future larger scale use of your logo.

Small businesses today face the ultimate challenge
of creating a long lasting solid first impression. Key issues in establishing
corporate identity for a startup or small business rest in establishing
goals, business plans and image. But most tend to initially overlook
the importance of having a professionally designed company logo.
A professional corporate image can do many things to
improve your business. For example: 1. Your business image, and specifically
your logo, will have much to do with how your customers think and feel
about your business. 2. Quality logos give your business an immediate
air of professionalism. Even if your business is new or less established,
a customer will often give the benefit of doubt to a company that looks
professional. 3. Every business eventually competes with others. A
unique and professional logo will help your customers distinguish your
products and services and help them remember who you are. 4. Not only
will a professional image help you with your customers, it might also
help attract key employees.

should I choose? (Top)
I only have my
logo in web resolution - can you redraw it for me? (Top)
Yes, conversion of low resolution images is our speciality!
Is there
software I can use to do the conversion myself? (Top)
Converting raster (bitmapped) art to vector art is not an automatic process;
you must trace over the raster art with the vector tools in Illustrator (or
any other vector program). There are programs (such as Adobe Streamline and
Celinea Vectoreye) which attempt to trace automatically, but the results are
unpredictable and problematic. The only way to get a really top-notch vector
version is to trace by hand which is what we do at The Logo Doctor!

Yes - all work is archived and can be sent again free of charge.

they can be carried out for a small fee with our Logo FIX services.
